Authorities are intensifying their search for Brenna Swindell, the 29-year-old daughter of former MLB pitcher Greg Swindell, who has been missing since last week. Brenna was last seen on August 22 at Poodies Hilltop Bar in Spicewood, Texas, located just outside of Austin. According to the Austin Police Department, she was with her ex-boyfriend, Morgan Guidry, at the time of her disappearance.
The pair was at the bar around 10:20 p.m., and neither has been seen since Thursday. Their cellphones have been turned off since Friday, heightening concerns about their safety.
Brenna Swindell is described as 5-foot-4, weighing between 120 to 140 pounds, with brown hair, hazel eyes, and tattoos on both arms. Authorities believe she may be traveling in a white 2022 Kia Carnival minivan with Texas license plate VFS 7528. The vehicle was reportedly “possibly seen” in Colorado Springs or Denver, although no additional details have been released.
Greg Swindell, a former MLB pitcher known for his 17-season career, has taken to social media to ask for help in locating his daughter. A license plate reader in Colorado flagged the Kia on Friday night, and Greg has urged people to keep an eye out for the vehicle in Idaho as well.
The Austin Police Department has expressed concern for Brenna’s safety and immediate welfare, noting that she has not been in her usual contact with family and friends.
Greg Swindell played as both a starting and relief pitcher in Major League Baseball, with stints on teams including Cleveland, Cincinnati, Houston, Minnesota, Boston, and Arizona. He concluded his career with a 123-122 record and a 3.86 ERA, winning a World Series title with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2001. He was also the No. 2 overall pick in the 1986 MLB draft out of the University of Texas at Austin.
In a heartfelt post, Greg’s wife, Sarah Swindell, thanked the public for their support and asked for continued prayers for Brenna’s safe return. The family remains hopeful as the search continues.
