HDFC Badhte Kadam Scholarship: 2023-24

Badhte Kadam Scholarship 2023-24 is an initiative by the H T Parekh Foundation, designed to help high-performing students from underprivileged backgrounds overcome financial barriers and pursue their education successfully. This scholarship not only provides financial support but also offers additional assistance such as mentorship and access to career counselling programs. The funds cover various academic expenses, including tuition fees, hostel fees, learning devices, books, stationery, and more.

About H T Parekh Foundation:
The H T Parekh Foundation was established in 2012 as the philanthropic arm of Housing Development Finance Corporation Limited (now merged with HDFC Bank) to commemorate its Founder Chairman, Shri Hasmukh Thakordas Parekh’s significant contributions.

Eligibility Criteria

For Students in Classes 9 to 12:

• Must be an Indian citizen enrolled in classes 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th.
• Preference for students who lost a parent or earning family member during the COVID-19 pandemic.
• Annual family income should not exceed 6 lakh rupees.
• Should not be children of buddy4study or HDFC Ltd employees.

For General Undergraduate Courses:

• Must be an Indian citizen pursuing undergraduate degrees like B.Com., B.Sc., B.A., BCA, etc.
• Preference for students who lost a parent or earning family member during the COVID-19 pandemic.
• Annual family income should not exceed 6 lakh rupees.
• Should not be children of buddy4study or HDFC Ltd employees.

For Professional Undergraduate Courses:

• Must be an Indian citizen pursuing professional undergraduate degrees like B.Tech., MBBS, LLB, B.Arch., Nursing, etc.
• Preference for students who lost a parent or earning family member during the COVID-19 pandemic.
• Annual family income should not exceed 6 lakh rupees.
• Should not be children of buddy4study or HDFC Ltd employees.

Documents Required

1. Marksheet/Certificate of the previous class.
2. Government-issued ID card (PAN card/Aadhaar card/Voter ID/Driving license).
3. Admission proof for the current academic year.
4. Document verifying the family crisis.
5. References from two individuals knowledgeable about the family crisis.
6. Bank account details.
7. Photograph.

Selection Process

• Shortlisting based on academic merit and socio-economic background.
• Document verification.
• Telephonic interview with shortlisted candidates.
• Final selection by the scholarship provider.
