Romanian authorities have seized a fleet of luxury vehicles from the residence of controversial social media personality Andrew Tate, just days after he was placed under house arrest following fresh human trafficking allegations. The vehicles, including high-end models like a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes-Benz, McLaren, and a classic red Lada, were impounded from Tate’s home near Bucharest.
Andrew Tate, 37, along with his brother Tristan Tate, 36, are under investigation for charges including human trafficking, forming a criminal gang to exploit women, and rape. Both brothers, who are former kickboxers and hold dual British-US citizenship, have millions of followers on social media and are known for their misogynistic views.
Romania’s anti-organized crime agency, DIICOT, conducted a raid on the Tates’ properties in Bucharest and nearby Ilfov county, where they detained six individuals, including the Tate brothers. In addition to the vehicles, authorities confiscated cash, laptops, and data storage devices.
One of the Tates’ lawyers, Georgiana Popa, criticized the seizures as “legal, but unfounded,” claiming that the cars do not belong to the brothers. The Tate brothers appeared in court in Bucharest last Thursday, where prosecutors sought to remand them in custody. However, a judge placed Andrew Tate under house arrest and Tristan Tate under judicial control.
Despite the allegations, the brothers’ spokesperson, Mateea Petrescu, stated that they firmly deny all charges and are determined to prove their innocence.
